In Her Shoes...

During a recent photoshoot, my lovely photographer decided to show up, wearing a pair of boots which I have been coveting for the past 2 months. It inspired me to do something I've never done before...

I turned the camera onto her.

Meet Jordan, my photographer and film maker. And also my friend.

What inspired you to buy these boots?

I was originally inspired to buy these boots when I saw an almost identical pair at Stuart Weitzman. I absolutely loved the look of them with the leather front and elastic back because I’m not a huge black leather person, and it was just the right amount for a knee length boot. I told myself that if I ever found a similar pair for under $300 they would be mine! As soon as I found out Wittner made these, I went in and put them on layby (It was 40°C outside).

What do you love most about them?

My favourite things about these boots is how fitted they are. I bought my first ever pair of boots only last year, so I knew it was true love when my third ever pair of boots were knee-highs. They’re so slim fitting around the ankle (which is hard to find) and they go right up to the perfect height, just above the knee.

How do you style them?

My favourite way to style these boots is with black pants. I wear fitted black pants all the time and they just go perfectly with the leather. The black on black works really well and I find neither black gets washed out from the other. I’ve seen people wear them with skirts/dresses and stockings too which I will definitely try when it hits winter.

Are you a shoe lover like me?

Before working in a shoe store, absolutely not! I’ve always been a clothes person (and still am) but I’ve come a long way! I used to rotate between two or so pairs of flats, and really only had about three or four pairs of heels. Being exposed to good quality shoes really changed my wardrobe and style. Now I love shoes and almost buy them more than clothes. Unlike many shoe lovers, I don’t buy shoes if I already have something similar. I like to stick to the classics and then I have the odd colourful and more out there shoes.

How many shoes do you own?

11 pairs of flats, 12 pairs of heels and 3 pairs of boots.
Sounds like a lot when I wrote it down but some could definitely be thrown out!

If you could buy one pair of designer shoes, which ones would they be and why?

That’s a hard one! I’d have to say I’m not really into designer shoes, but before I bought my Wittner boots I would have said the Stuart Weiztman version! Now that I already have my dream boot…hmm maybe the beautiful blue Manolo’s from Sex and the City!

Sometimes you can take fashion inspiration from celebrities. socialites, bloggers and even people who surround you.

Currently Trending: It's Wine o'clock

Marsala has been labelled as the Pantone colour of the year and it is one of the popular Winter hues for 2015.

So what exactly is Marsala?

It's a rich and earthy chocolatey wine colour but most people call it burgundy, wine, plum and even maroon. And I have this ridiculous obsession with any and all fashion in this colour family. It is always my Winter colour crush and I love seeing it as a popular Winter hue.

The strong and subtle shade adds a nice pop of colour to any Winter ensemble. And it's such a rich, luscious tone that everyone needs to add to their wardrobe.

Now, usually I like to add the hottest season trends to my classic wardrobe using the latest accessories... Shoes are usually always my accessory of choice for this! But this season, I love everything in the Marsala (wine) family.

From runways and red carpets to home furnishings and beauty products, you can easily surround yourself in this popular Wintery tone.

So what's the best way to style Marsala?

1. If you are like me and love wearing classic, neutral tones during the cooler months, the colour will really make such a bold statement against a neutral palette. Add a colourful handbag or pair of shoes in the luscious colour for a bold statement.

2. Marsala is compatible with other earthy tones. Style your marsala items with varying shades of brown, rust, yellows and everything in-between.

3. If you are hesitant to incorporate the popular hue into your wardrobe, start small. Add some nail polish or a swipe of lipstick for a statement.

4. For a seductive outfit, pair your marsala dress with matching marsala heels. This will definitely wow everyone.

The popular tone is also suitable for men! Add a silk tie or even a pocket square with a grey suit for a bold statement.

The Pantone colour of the year is popping up in stores and online everywhere so be sure to get in quick so you don't miss out!

Happy shopping! xo

Foxi and Fabulous

What I'm Wearing:

Calvin Klein Watch
Samantha Wills ring

I have a confession to make... I'm a shoe addict! I have way too many shoes in my wardrobe already and I keep buying more!

I would like you to meet the newest member of my shoe family, 'Foxi' by Tony Bianco.

I love everything about these shoes. The black suede is the perfect texture for the Winter season. The pointed toe adds femininity and elegance to any outfit. And the lace up front is super chic and adds an interesting detail to the shoes.

And, I have to mention my love of the 12cm stiletto heels. I'm addicted to them! They are fierce and full of attitude. And it's the best way to fake runner's calves!

I love how much these shoes can dress up any outfit. They add elegance and class to your pencil skirts and dresses. But, they also look great with cropped jeans and trousers.

If you are ever feeling down, these shoes will be sure to lift you up!

It's true love.

It's a jungle out there...

And sometimes you need really good shoes to get you through it.

Meet the newest member of my shoe wardrobe...

'Leola' by Tony Bianco.

What I'm Wearing:

Cue jacket - Sold out - shop similar here

I was fortunate enough to buy these babies during a VIP day at Claremont shopping centre. I practically saved money buying them!

As soon as I saw them, I knew I needed to add them to my shoe collection. What I love most about these shoes is definitely the heels. The 12cm heel was way too tempting to leave them behind! I'm a sucker for tall stiletto heels.

And the zebra stripes make such a bold statement.

I love wearing these heels with neutral outfits or all black to make them really pop!

The classic style and shape, make these shoes versatile and easy to wear with anything! They look fabulous with jeans, dresses and skirts. What more can you want in a shoe?

My Travel Diary: 55 Hours in Margaret River

Where My Shoes Took Me...

I had a little 55 hour vacation down south to Margaret River. I needed a quick getaway to visit my boyfriend and I needed some time away from the hustle and bustle of the city for a little rest and relaxation.

After a decent 3 hour drive to Margaret River in my Mini Cooper, I finally started to relax when I drove through the beautiful winding roads and gorgeous tall trees, leaving the concrete jungle 300 kms in my rearview mirror.

I was in Margaret River during the Surfing Pro event so I spent a substantial amount of time watching the amazing waves at Surfer's Point and drinking coffee. I was surprised to see so many locals caught up in the hype of the surfing event.

I spent a lot of my down time, chilling on the beach with a coffee, listening to the waves crash against the rocks. Aside from relaxing on the beach, I spent some time tasting wine, sampling chocolate and trying different flavours of fudge. And I even spent a morning strolling through a local forest.

What you'll need for a quick vacation down south:

1. A pair of comfortable walking shoes. My personal preference is a pair of slip on trainers. They provide the right amount of comfort and luxury to any outfit.

2. Some flat leather ankle boots. You may do a bit of walking to find a restaurant so if you have a flat ankle boot, you can take a romantic stroll after dinner and be comfortable. Plus, I was shocked at first, but no one wears high heels in Margaret River!

3. Jeans are a definite must! During Autumn, Margaret River is a little bit chilly so jeans are easy to wear, comfortable and keep you warm! They can also be dressed up or down with a change of shoes!

4. A warm but chic jacket! You will be warm, it's simple to add a jacket to your outfit and you'll be ready for wining and dining in any restaurant.

5. Basic shirts are also your best friend in Margaret River! They are casual to wear with your jeans and slip on trainers during the day, but with a quick shoe change and your jacket, you'll be able to dress up your look!

6. Statement jewellery! It's simple to pack a pair of statement earrings and a statement ring to dress up your casual outfit!

7. A crossbody handbag. This will keep your hands free for all the wine tasting, you'll get to enjoy!

Margaret River is a great place to go when you have some free days. It is a relaxing place and enjoyable when you have a car to drive around. You can visit all the different wineries, factories and the different beaches along the coast, all at your own pace.

Block it Out!

Have you got that one pair of shoes that you wear all the time?

Well, these are my new favourites and I don't leave the house without them. I love the black and white print. The monochrome style makes them versatile and easy to match with any outfit.

Meet 'Riley' by Senso, my new favourites.

I've been coveting these Senso shoes for a while now and I was lucky enough to receive them as a birthday present and I couldn't be happier.

What I love most about these shoes is the block heels. It makes them super comfortable and easy to wear, everyday. As much as I love stiletto heels, sometimes it's nice to have a pair of comfortable favourites to wear on days when you have sore feet.

And the lace up front, adds a nice little detail to the shoes.

There is nothing that these heels don't go with. I wear them with jeans, trousers, dresses and skirts.

These are such a versatile pair of heels which will be making many appearances into my daily outfits.
