Currently Trending: Animal Instinct

It's a jungle out there and sometimes you need really good shoes to get you through it.

And this season is all about animal prints.

Tony Bianco 'Leola' heels in Zebra strip

Reptile, leopard, giraffe, zebra and tiger stripes are some of the popular prints that we are seeing in stores and online for the new season.

So, why are they so popular?

Animal print shoes are a great way to add an interesting element to a basic outfit with minimal effort. Adding a splash of animal print is a sure way to bring out your wild side.

Here are my tips for styling animal prints!

1. Build your outfit around the colour palette of your print. Animal prints look best when they are the focal point of your outfit. So style your animal print heels around a neutral palette and they'll be sure to roar.

2. Add a glamorous evening bag in a similar animal print for a more balanced look.

3. Don't be afraid to print clash. If you want to add another animal print to your outfit, be sure to keep the colours the same so your look is more harmonious. If you are game and can pull off crazy outfits, florals and strips are fun prints to style with your animal print heels.

4. Bright and bold colours make animal prints pop. Choose one block colour in an item of clothing and step into your favourite animal print high heel shoes and you will have a fun and bold outfit.

The main thing to remember is animal prints are basically neutrals so you can wear them with absolutely everything! And, those cute animal print heels you've been eyeing off, you should definitely get them! Animal print high heels never go out of style.

Hello Sailor!

Wearing: Kookai top / Cue shorts / Witchery wedges / Samantha Wills rings / Calvin Klein Watch

The season may have ticked over to Autumn but there is still time to enjoy the last little bit of Summer and the best of the Summer trends.

And my favourite pair of shoes from the Summer season, is the Witchery 'Demi' wedge espadrilles.

What I love most about these wedges is how chic they are. The delicate ankle strap makes them super feminine and flattering. They look fabulous when paired with casual weekend wear and super elegant when styled with skirts and dresses.

I am one of those people who is easily influenced by social media! I first saw a Melbourne based fashion blogger wearing these shoes and I loved them so much, that I was tracking them down online.

I love the height of the wedge heel and the platform lift at the front. This makes them super high and fun to wear, but also nice and comfortable with the platform front. I've worn these wedges shopping, a casual lunch along the beach and even on date night.

Espadrilles are all about comfort and casual dressing. These wedges look fabulous with shirt dresses, a line skirts and denim jeans. I also love the light, neutral palette as they look great when styled with all colours and patterns.

Currently Trending: Grey Matter

Shoes by Tony Bianco / Knit by Cue clothing

Perth may disagree with me but the calendar has just ticked over to Autumn and we are finally seeing the new trends arriving online and in stores. Which means, it's time to update your shoe collection and get ready for the new season. Who can say no to shopping?

And one of the major trends for the season is all things grey!

Grey Matter

Grey is such a popular Autumn/Winter hue and it is one that can be worn with absolutely everything. Grey is the hottest trend for the upcoming season. There are so many shades of the sophisticated palette available, you'll definitely be sure to find something to suit your style.

Styling your greys is easy!

1. Style your grey accessories with other shades of grey! It's all about pairing your grey separates together. Different grey tones, look great together and makes your outfit refreshing for the darker months! Don't worry if the greys are different colours, it's all about contrasting the greys.

2. Compliment a bright and colourful outfit with grey tone accessories. It's a great way to keep the look bright and cheerful during the colder months. Tip: Make sure the lighter the grey, the darker the complementary colour should be and vice versa.

3. For a more professional look, style your grey shoes with black and white. They look fresh and crisp together and monochrome is such a popular trend for Winter. Black, white and grey is a great look for work or when you are networking. Add a pop of colour if you want to go out for drinks after work.

The timeless palette is what you need to get you through the Autumn season. Autumn is all about monochromatic dressing. For a more fun and cheerful look, add a pop of red lip to spice up your outfit.

Autumn is here!

My favourite season is definitely Autumn. I love how beautiful the world looks, when it's covered by a blanket of Autumn leaves. Everything looks and smells incredibly fresh and the weather is perfect. But most of all, the fashion is amazing.

And my favourite thing to wear during the Autumn season is definitely ankle boots. They are super chic, comfortable and look fabulous with everything.

I was recently asked by a follower to share with you my shoe collection. So I thought I would bring back Shoe of the Week so you can take a virtual tour inside my shoe wardrobe. I would like to introduce you to one of my favourite ankle boots this season...

Meet 'Gabrie' by Wittner.

'Gabrie' boots by Wittner shoes

I first saw these shoes on the Wittner Facebook page and immediately needed them in my life. I loved the style and the uniqueness of them with the cutouts on the side and the block heel had me swooning. I was lucky enough, to buy these babies on sale.

"If I ever let my head down it will be just to admire shoes"

I love the versatility of these boots. The cutouts on the side, elongate your legs and keep your feet cool on warmer days, which makes them the perfect trans-seasonal companion.

The 7cm block heel provides a lot of support and stability, making them super comfortable. They are definitely the ideal bootie for shopping followed by a cafe lunch.

The perfect shopping companion

I love the versatility of these boots. They look fabulous with absolutely everything. I've styled them with shorts, dresses, skirts and jeans. The outfit possibilities are endless with these boots.

Arm Candy

[Stacked bangles and statement rings]

They make such a bold statement. It is the easiest way to dress up your outfit and turn it into a glamorous ensemble. I paired a classic striped singlet with shiny, bright gold accents, to lift the look. It took the look from casual to effortlessly chic. I am obsessed with adding cocktail rings to all my outfit and I love the way my new marble cuff by Country Road matched with my other jewels.

The Butterfly Effect

My shoe of the week is the intricately designed 'Fullforce' by Nine West.

What I love most about them is the laser cut detail on the shoe. This draws attention to the shoe and makes such a bold statement.

They are the perfect trans-seasonal sandal. They are open enough across the heel and toes for the Spring and Summer seasons, but they also cover enough of the foot to look like a shoe bootie for the Autumn and Winter months.

What more can you want in a statement heel?

Well, they are incredibly comfortable. They offer enough support across your ankles and the 10cm heel is the perfect every day heel height.

These shoes look fabulous with simple dresses and A-line skirts, just perfect for a Sunday session or even a formal wedding, it is wedding season after all!

I can't wait for the weather to start cooling down so I can pair them with denim jeans. The natural taupe colour looks crisp and refreshing when paired with blue tones.

These heels are fast becoming one of my favourites in my collection! What's your go to trans-seasonal heel?
