Currently Trending: It's Wine o'clock

Marsala has been labelled as the Pantone colour of the year and it is one of the popular Winter hues for 2015.

So what exactly is Marsala?

It's a rich and earthy chocolatey wine colour but most people call it burgundy, wine, plum and even maroon. And I have this ridiculous obsession with any and all fashion in this colour family. It is always my Winter colour crush and I love seeing it as a popular Winter hue.

The strong and subtle shade adds a nice pop of colour to any Winter ensemble. And it's such a rich, luscious tone that everyone needs to add to their wardrobe.

Now, usually I like to add the hottest season trends to my classic wardrobe using the latest accessories... Shoes are usually always my accessory of choice for this! But this season, I love everything in the Marsala (wine) family.

From runways and red carpets to home furnishings and beauty products, you can easily surround yourself in this popular Wintery tone.

So what's the best way to style Marsala?

1. If you are like me and love wearing classic, neutral tones during the cooler months, the colour will really make such a bold statement against a neutral palette. Add a colourful handbag or pair of shoes in the luscious colour for a bold statement.

2. Marsala is compatible with other earthy tones. Style your marsala items with varying shades of brown, rust, yellows and everything in-between.

3. If you are hesitant to incorporate the popular hue into your wardrobe, start small. Add some nail polish or a swipe of lipstick for a statement.

4. For a seductive outfit, pair your marsala dress with matching marsala heels. This will definitely wow everyone.

The popular tone is also suitable for men! Add a silk tie or even a pocket square with a grey suit for a bold statement.

The Pantone colour of the year is popping up in stores and online everywhere so be sure to get in quick so you don't miss out!

Happy shopping! xo
