Currently Trending: Sandal Up

Summer is coming, which means, it's time to get your feet out and into some cute heeled sandals, ready for the 40 degree heat.

I have to admit, I am a Winter girl. I love the cold weather, wearing ankle boots and skinny jeans. But if there is one thing, I love about Summer, it's the strappy, high heel sandal.

What I love most about the high heel sandal, is how feminine and flattering they are. High heel sandals are the perfect accessory for the Spring and Summer seasons. They go well with the latest fashions and complement the latest prints and patterns.

The minimalism of the shoes, makes them, incredibly versatile. Having a simple shoe, means you can draw more attention to your clothes. So, be sure to pick the craziest and brightest outfit to style your high heel sandals with.

So below are some of my tips for styling high heel sandals:

1. Clashing prints is a popular trend this season, so be sure to style the latest trend, with a pair of minimal high heel sandals for an instantly chic look.

2. Midi skirts are a popular trend this season, so slide into one and step into a pair of stiletto sandals for an elegant and classy outfit. The perfect outfit for lunch with the girls or dinner with your beau.

3. Add a pair of stiletto sandals to your favourite jumpsuit for the perfect trans-seasonal outfit.

The Summer sandal is a definite must have for the Spring/Summer season. The versatility of these shoes is endless. There are so many styles available, so you'll be sure to find a pair that suits your style.

Happy shopping!

Happy Feet

We all spend many hours on our feet, everyday. On average, I walk over 10,000 steps every, single day (thank you to my Fitbit for those stats!). So we must keep our feet happy and healthy so they can continue to carry us places.

The best thing you can do for your feet is buy good quality shoes. So, what does the extra money get you?

You will get better quality leather, which means they will mould to your feet better and they won't rub (blisters? no way).

The extra money also buys you more foot support under the arch of the foot and cushioning in the soles. This will absorb some of the shock and pressure from everyday wear. When you are on your feet for long periods of time, you definitely want a pair of shoes, that will provide the support your feet need.

And, the more you spend on your shoes, the longer they will last you, providing you look after them correctly. See my How to Care for your Shoes, for tips and advise. Now, in saying that, I don't mean you can only buy Salvatore Ferragamo or Christian Louboutin shoes, you can still find some good quality shoes in the middle of the range.

My 2nd tip, to happy and healthy feet, is buy shoes that actually fit your feet.

There are so many styles, cuts and shapes available, and I am sure you will find something to suit your feet. There is nothing worse then Bad Fitting Shoes, so make friends with fitting aids! Your shoes will fit so much better!

It is important to understand the shoe materials you are buying. A leather shoe is designed to soften and mould to your feet, so it's ok if they are a little bit snug, just make sure they are not, painfully tight. And those cute floral satin heels, you've had your eye on, they wont stretch very much. Maybe opt for a slightly bigger size and add some fitting aids.

And finally, my key to happy feet is, don't sacrifice comfort for fashion. Know the occasion before picking your shoes.

I personally love high heel shoes and I wear them, almost all day, everyday. But, I have a confession to make... I walk to and from work, in slightly more practical shoes.

I admit, it's not ideal, but walking up and down stairs, across uneven surfaces and running for trains, it's not practical in heels, so personally, I opt for sensible and appropriate shoes for those situations. My top picks for fashion savvy, comfortable shoes are, chunky heeled ankle boots or slip on trainers. You can't go wrong with those!

You can find some super stylish and super comfortable shoes around, so why not leave those pointed toe heels under your desk at work? Your feet will thank you later.

Designer Shoes: Are you afraid to wear them out?

Christian Louboutin 'Fifi' black spikes

I sit down, heart racing and excitement increasing. I slowly lift the lid to the box, exposing, crisp, white tissue paper. I pull back the tissue paper revealing the most jaw dropping pair of shoes.

Peeking up at me, is a pair of beautiful, black patent leather pumps, embellished with black studs and the thinnest stiletto heels, I have ever seen.

I pick up the shoes to admire them closely. I slide my hand over the smooth, red lacquer sole, admiring the craftsmanship of the shoes.

Intoxicated by the smell of new, fresh leather, I can't resist the urge to giggle and jump around in glee.

These are my first pair of Christian Louboutin shoes.

My pride and joy.

It was love at first sight. The black spikes and thin stiletto heel, were my undoing. I had to have them. To me, they are a piece of art. They are beautifully designed and exquisitely hand crafted.

But, almost 18 months on, I still haven't worn them out. I'm too afraid to ruin them and the red lacquer sole is way too beautiful to scuff. And, not to mention, the money factor, if I ruined them!

Shoes take a major beating. Walking on cobble roads, through the weather and the general wear and tear. Can you blame me for being afraid to wear them?

So please help me!

How do you get over the fear of ruining your designer shoes?

Shoe Addicts Anonymous

I have a problem... I'm addicted to shoes!

No matter how many pairs of shoes I buy, there are always many more, that I need in my life.

I want to introduce you, to one of the newest members of my shoe collection. Meet, the super girly, super fashionable 'Unicorn' by Zoe Wittner designs.

What can I say, except, it was true love at first sight. I was on the hunt for a pair of shoes, that were different to anything else I had in my wardrobe. And once I spotted these shoes, I knew I had found that 'something different'. I realised that I do not own anything pink in my wardrobe and I figured, why shouldn't I? So naturally, they came home with me!

I love everything about these shoes. The touch of pink makes such a statement against the black leather. These are the perfect addition to your little black dress or your favourite skinny jeans.

I especially love the pointed toe on this style. Pointed toe shoes are making a return this season with a vengeance! Everywhere I look, I am bombarded with so many colours, cuts and prints to choose from. Pointed toe shoes are feminine, classic and easy to wear for any occasion. How could I say no?

And, have I mentioned the heel? As many of my loyal reader's know, stiletto heels, are by far, my favourite kind of heel. They are feminine, classic, super stylish and just, fun to wear. Not to mention, they give you great calf definition, that would make any runner, jealous.

The 10.5cm heel is the perfect height. They are just high enough to wear out and feel glamorous but still a practical height for everyday wear.

These leather shoes, are fast becoming one of my favourites in my collection. They add a touch of glamour and femininity to simple ensembles. And despite the name, I assure you, there is nothing mythical about these shoes, they really are, that perfect!

Shoe of the Week

Life gets busy...

And complicated...

And hard...

I have had a severe case of blogger's block.

I have been lacking inspiration, creativity and time, to keep my blog up to date.

Yes, I know what you are thinking... excuses, excuses, excuses! But, it's true. Life gets in the way and all the things that I love to do, have been put aside.

For months, I have been holding onto a collection of beautiful photos, taken by the very talented Jan Augustin, and it's time I share them with the world.

Shoes are an important part of my routine. I sell shoes on a daily basis and am constantly giving customer's advise on their shoe choices.

We are now well and truly out of Winter and heading into Summer, and what better Summer staple is there, than neutral shoes?

Neutral shoes are a necessity in every woman's wardrobe. They go with absolutely everything.

My current Season neutral shoe, is 'Goodlookin' by Nine West. I love these shoes and everything about them!

The patent leather, the neutral colour and the heel, are all features that make these shoes flawless and perfect. But what I love most about them, is their versatility. The classic court shoe style means they will be a great shoe for work and play.

These shoes are a definite must have for Summer!

Shoe of the Week

Dreaming of Paris...

I was walking down the cobble streets of Avignon. It had been a long and busy day, filled with sight seeing and exploring the history of the town. I was on my way back to the hotel, weaving through little alley ways, admiring the architecture of the town.

Somehow, I had managed to stumble upon a beautiful street, lined with fashion boutiques and beautiful cafes. Even when I am not trying, I can always find hidden fashion treasures.

Wearing: Cue Peplum Dress / Mimco pouch / Dotti Hat / CosmoParis high heels / Chanel lipstick

It was then, that I spotted them. They were sitting in the window of a beautiful boutique and I instantly fell in love. For a while, I had been on the hunt, to find the perfect pair of red, high heel shoes. I always thought they were feminine, flirty and fun and I really wanted to buy a pair for myself. But, finding the perfect red shoe, is much harder than it sounds.

I wanted a classic style, that was simple and elegant but did not look cheap and nasty. And these were it. Unfortunately, I hesitated. I continued down the street to the hotel. Leaving my shoes behind.

Once upon a time, I would hesitate to buy shoes. I would consider the cost of them. And, I would consider my need for them. How different I am now!

A few days later, I was shopping at Au Printemps in Paris, and I spotted them... Again. This time, I knew, it was meant to be.

I tried them on, and instantly wanted them. I love the vibrant red colour of them. They are a great accessory to brighten any outfit!

I love the patent leather as it makes them more elegant and feminine.

The heel is my idea of perfect. They are wonderfully thin and a comfortable height, ideal for all day wear. These shoes are hand made in Italy. Does it get any better than that?

I love these shoes and have worn them so many times. They are extremely versatile and go well with absolutely everything. The classic style means they go great with dresses, skirts and trousers for work, but they also look great under jeans for a more casual look.

These shoes are very special to me and have travelled all the way from Paris. Whenever I step my feet into these shoes, I instantly think of Paris. I start day dreaming about shopping on the Champs Elysees, climbing the Eiffel Tower and cruising down the Seine.

It is amazing how one pair of shoes, can evoke so much emotion and instantly transport me back to Paris :P

Have I mentioned that I love these shoes?

Shoe of the Week

This is the season of pointed toe shoes. Everywhere I look, I am bombarded with so many to choose from. I believe, a pointed toe shoe, with a stiletto heel is a classic, feminine style and every woman should own, at least one pair... Or if you are like me...10... :)

I was looking for a classic work shoe, when I stumbled upon 'Orra' by Boutique 9.

I love how classic these shoes are. It is a great style, that looks corporate and sophisticated under a pair of trousers for work or elegant, feminine and classy with dresses and skirts. I love a work shoe, that is extremely versatile, so this style was a guaranteed "shoe-in!".

The open cut side, is very chic and flattering. It makes the shoes unique and gives these basics, a twist. I love a good stiletto heel. I would be head over heels, madly in love with these shoes, if they were slightly higher. The 9.5cm heel is a sensible height for these shoes. It is comfortable and easy to walk in, so I will be able to last all day in them. But where is the fun, in being sensible?

And the patent leather? A lot of woman are hesitant to buy patent shoes, but I think it is one of the greatest materials. It draws attention to the shoes and can turn any simple ensemble, into an elegant master piece.

One quote that I absolutely agree with and relevant to these shoes is "if the shoe fits, buy it in every colour!" Well, I couldn't resist. I love the copper (rose gold) colour in "Orra". I have numerous, rose gold accessories and love to style them, with these shoes. I think it is a great combination with a plain black outfit. It makes the rose gold accessories more vibrant and noticeable.

I believe 'Orra' will be a timeless classic, for every season.

Shoe of the Week

I have so many shoes in my wardrobe (126 to be exact). So many, that some, have never been warn outside of the house. These shoes, were one of them... Until I found the perfect outfit!

My Shoe of the Week is 'Melpensa' by Windsor Smith.

I bought these shoes on one of my many shopping expeditions. I was doing some late night shopping in Myer, when I spotted them.  It was the gold studded detailing that caught my attention. I found the gold detailing contrasting against the black suede an interesting combination. I was intrigued enough, to try them on.

Once I stepped my feet into these shoes, I was head over heels for them. I love the minimalist style and the studs! I felt feminine and confident once I put them on. I've had these shoes for a while now, but have never found the 'perfect outfit' to wear them with... Until now.

When I spotted this off white Sass and Bide jacket, it was a match made in heaven. I instantly fell in love with the jacket and then all I could think about, was styling it, with these shoes. I love the way the shoes, match the black and gold detailing on the jacket.

Wearing: Kookai dress / Sass and Bide jacket / Windsor Smith heels

I love how simple these shoes are, with the single, front strap and the delicate ankle strap. It is extremely feminine and can dress up any outfit. The gold studs, draw your attention to the shoes, making them the statement piece, of the outfit.

These shoes are extremely versatile. This is a style that looks great with dresses and skirts but it is also a simple style, to dress up your jeans, during Winter.

These shoes are extremely comfortable to wear. The 10cm heel is a great height to give my legs great definition, while still being incredibly comfortable and easy to walk in.

I am a shoe hoarder and I buy shoes, purely on an impulse. Once I get them home, I tend to realise, I have nothing to wear them with. I love when I find the perfect outfit to match with my many, pairs of shoes!

Shoe of the Week

Have you ever found a pair of shoes that you absolutely love, but no matter how hard you try, you just can't seem to get them?

Well, that happened to me... Twice.

Two weeks ago, I talked about the recent a pair and a spare and Tony Bianco collaboration. Well, the whole collection, I absolutely adore, so I couldn't resist another pair.

But, unfortunately they sold out of my size, not once, but twice. So, you can only imagine my excitement when they released, a third shipment of the shoes.

I can honestly say, I squealed with excitement.... I was on the Tony Bianco website.... on the train... it was a little bit embarrassing! I got a few strange looks from fellow commuters :) but, I also got the shoes!!!

My Shoe of the Week is 'Kasandra' by a pair and a spare for Tony Bianco.

What can I say about them, except love, love, love!

I love the colour of them. The perfect neutral shade for both Winter and Summer months.

I love the full lace up front. They are extremely feminine and can 'glam' up any outfit.

I love the height of the heel. 11cm is the perfect height for me as they elongate my silhouette and are extremely comfortable and easy to walk in.

And I love how versatile they are! A great style for Summer dresses and skirts but they also look amazing under jeans during Winter.

I am extremely happy that I finally got these shoes. Did I need them? Probably not, but, I do love them... :P

Shoe of the Week

Sometimes you may not be looking for shoes, or even in the mood for shoe shopping (which doesn't happen often!) and they just catch your eye. Even in the unlikely event, you can find shoes you love.

My Shoe of the Week is 'Prelude' by Siren shoes.

I bought these shoes on my recent trip to Adelaide. I was walking through Rundle Mall with my family, when I discovered them. It was love at first sight.

It was a cold and rainy day in Rundle Mall and it was the bright yellow, patent that caught my attention. It was nice to see something colourful and bright for the Winter season.

I love shoe shopping. If I am having a bad day, I know shoe shopping will always cheer me up. When I stepped my feet into these shoe, I felt happy... I felt confident, excited, feminine and stylish. That feeling, never gets old!

Wearing: Sass and Bide singlet / Country Road Jeans and Tony Bianco sunglasses

I love the 11cm metallic heel. It's a great height for elongating my silhouette without being too high. They are extremely comfortable and easy to walk in.

These shoes are a great style for dressing up, any Autumn/Winter outfit.

I love the contrast between the materials and colours on the shoes. I love the black suede pointed toe, fading into off white mesh and settling on yellow patent leather. It is definitely a style that will turn heads this Winter season.

These shoes are a classic style and shape, which means they will be extremely versatile. They look great with skinny jeans for a more casual look, but they can also be dressed up with skirts and dresses.

I am head over heels in love with these shoes.

Shoe of the Week

Shoe of the Week has moved to a new day! Every Monday I will let you inside my wardrobe and show you some of my new and favourite shoe purchases.

I spend a lot of my spare time (when I'm not shopping) in the blogosphere. I have a number of favourite fashion blogs that I like to follow and keep up to date with.

One day, I discovered a recent collaboration between one of my favourite bloggers and one of my favourite Australian shoe brands. It is safe to say, I was intrigued.

My Shoe of the Week is 'Arla' from the recent a pair and a spare and Tony Bianco collaboration.

I was giddy with excitement when the courier knocked on my door. I couldn't wait to open my gift to myself and try on my new shoes. When I saw the shoes nestled in the tissue paper, I had a smile on my face like a kid at Christmas time. I love everything about this shoe. It's as simple as that!

Wearing: Cue dress / Samantha Wills ring / Tony Bianco heels
I love how classic and elegant they are, with the pointed toe and thin ankle strap, but how modern and trendy they are with the gold chain t-bar strap. It is such a unique combination. The delicate t-bar strap makes the style extremely feminine.

This style is also extremely versatile. It's a great style that can be dressed up with dresses or skirts for a formal occasion or worn casually with jeans or shorts.

I don't own very many white shoes. Mainly because I don't want to get them dirty but I think a white shoe is simple, elegant and classic. It is a nice alternative to always wearing black!
