Shoe of the Week

Sometimes you may not be looking for shoes, or even in the mood for shoe shopping (which doesn't happen often!) and they just catch your eye. Even in the unlikely event, you can find shoes you love.

My Shoe of the Week is 'Prelude' by Siren shoes.

I bought these shoes on my recent trip to Adelaide. I was walking through Rundle Mall with my family, when I discovered them. It was love at first sight.

It was a cold and rainy day in Rundle Mall and it was the bright yellow, patent that caught my attention. It was nice to see something colourful and bright for the Winter season.

I love shoe shopping. If I am having a bad day, I know shoe shopping will always cheer me up. When I stepped my feet into these shoe, I felt happy... I felt confident, excited, feminine and stylish. That feeling, never gets old!

I love the 11cm metallic heel. It's a great height for elongating my silhouette without being too high. They are extremely comfortable and easy to walk in.

These shoes are a great style for dressing up, any Autumn/Winter outfit.

I love the contrast between the materials and colours on the shoes. I love the black suede pointed toe, fading into off white mesh and settling on yellow patent leather. It is definitely a style that will turn heads this Winter season.

These shoes are a classic style and shape, which means they will be extremely versatile. They look great with skinny jeans for a more casual look, but they can also be dressed up with skirts and dresses.

I am head over heels in love with these shoes.

Shoe of the Week

My major Winter crush right now, is anything burgundy, marone and everything in between.

This is what drew my attention to Kookai's 'City Chic' Boots in deep red.

I bought these shoes while I was shooting a previous Shoe of the Week on King Street in Perth. I spend a lot of my spare time browsing online shoe stores and social media platforms. It's great for keeping up to date with the latest fashion trends.

One day I was browsing through all the pictures on Instagram, when I noticed these boots. As soon as I saw them, I loved them and I knew I had to try them on!

I love everything about these boots. The colour is amazing and sure to turn heads this Winter season. These boots are the perfect accessory for adding a splash of colour to your dark, Winter ensembles.

And who could look passed the stiletto heel? The heels are a sure "ankle breaker" but they look amazing and gives my calf muscles a great workout! These ankle boots are a great accessory, to dress up any outfit.

The hidden platform is a great addition to the shoe. It helps reduce the height of the heel, making them more comfortable to wear and easier to walk in.

I love the contrast of the gold zip details against the deep red suede. It is a great combination and makes them appear dressier. Despite the colour, the shoes are incredibly versatile. They go great with jeans for a more casual look and they also go great with dresses and tights.

These are one of my favourite ankle boots, this Winter season. They are a simple, classic style, which means they will go with absolutely everything.

Ankle Boots

I was recently asked,

"What can you tell me about ankle boots? I am new to this trend and do not know what I can wear them with or how to style them..."

What a great question!

Ankle boots, for me, are a Winter necessity. They are extremely versatile and can be worn with anything. Ankle boots are becoming more and more popular and they now come in a variety of colours, styles, cuts and materials.

If you look hard enough, I can guarantee, you will find a style that suits your needs (and wants of course!).

I wear my ankle boots with my skinny jeans for a more casual look during the day or I wear them with dresses and skirts, with or without tights, for work and going out.

I have many ankle boots and I style them all differently. I have a pair of chunky heeled, black leather ankle boots that I love to wear with dresses and skirts. I love the style of them and I don't want to hide them under jeans.

I also have another pair (black suede and extremely comfortable!) that I only wear with jeans and sweaters during the day, for a more relaxed look.

Ankle boots are the perfect Winter accessory. They are great for keeping your feet warm and dry during the cold and wet season and they are great for adding your own personal style to your Winter wardrobe.

If you are new to this trend, I would suggest choosing a classic style that can be worn with everything and choose a neutral colour. Black or nude ankle boots are a great place to start. If you are like me and have so many ankle boots, it is time to add a splash of colour to your wardrobe!

Shoe of the Week #10

My shoe of the week is 'Amp' in blood orange, by Siren shoes.

I discovered Siren shoes late into my sole obsession. I must have been living under a rock for some time! But, then I found them. And, can I just say... amazing shoes!

Wearing: Cue dress and Samantha Wills jewellery

I was doing some web surfing and decided to check out the new season shoes, on the Siren website. When I spotted these shoes, I knew they had to be mine. They are incredible.

What caught my attention most, was the height of the heel. The 14cm heel provides me with a challenge, which I greedily accepted! I have many different heel heights but I think this is by far, the tallest heels in my wardrobe. And... I can walk in them!

I feel glamorous when I step my feet into these shoes. They make me so much taller. It's nice to see the world at 185cm, for a change! They also give me legs, to be proud of.

The platform is an added feature which aids in the comfort of the heel, by absorbing some of the height. The platform also adds extra support under the balls of the feet, while still maintaining the illusion of skyscraper heels.

I also love the colour of the shoe. It is perfect for the summer months to brighten up your wardrobe. The black and white accents on the shoes, provide a nice contrast against the coral and makes the style unique.

Another amazing feature on these shoes is the t-bar strap. This makes the style incredibly feminine and will be sure to turn heads. These shoes go great with dresses, skirts, shorts and jeans, which makes them versatile... another positive!

I was surprised by how comfortable these shoes were. The 14cm heel is very structured and supportive and there is added cushioning in the sole of the shoes. This helps to relieve some of the pressure from your feet.

Once I bought these shoes, Siren released them in even more colours, including purple, which is my all time favourite colour. I am still yet to find a purple shoe that I love. These may need to be my next purchase!

When hard work finally pays off...Part 2

“Shoes transform your body language and attitude. They lift you physically and emotionally.” – Christian Louboutin

When I step my feet into a pair of high heels, I instantly change. They transform me from a shy, quiet person, into someone who is confident and ready to take on the world. And what better way is there, to conquer the world, than in a pair of iconic, red lacquer heels?

In my last post I talked about my first pair of Christian Louboutin heels, well, I bought my second pair of Christian Louboutins, at the same time.

So, it's time for me to introduce you to my second (and equally amazing) pair of Christian Louboutin heels, the stunning, 'Divinoche'.

I'm a frequent visitor of the designer shoes section of David Jones Hay Street. I covet the high end footwear and day dream about what shoes I would buy if I came into some money. I'd been eyeing this pair for a while but then I spotted 'Fifi' (see previous post for this story!) and knew these ones would have to wait!

When I returned to David Jones to buy ‘Fifi’, I noticed these shoes were on sale. Who could say no to them now?

I owed it to the shoes to at least try them on! :)

Once I stepped my feet into the shoes, I knew, I wanted them (yes, I say this with all my shoes but isn't it obvious? I'm obsessed). It was like they were made especially for my feet. They fit perfectly and they were incredibly comfortable. They had to be mine.

These shoes are everything that I believe a shoe should be. They a chic, stylish, feminine, beautiful, unique, simple and of course, a little bit sexy.

I love the 120mm heel. They define my calf muscles and make me stand so much taller. The little platform under the toes is an added bonus, it takes away some of the height, which makes them more comfortable to survive the night in.

I love the colour contrast on these shoes. The maroon and pink go great together and makes this style very unique. I also love the way the straps wrap around the ankle, they really elongate my legs.

Every time I look at my Christian Louboutin shoe boxes, I have to pinch myself to make sure I’m not dreaming. I feel proud of myself for working hard and achieving something amazing.

Anything can happen if you set your mind to it.
