Shoe of the Week #8

My shoe of the week is 'Ashbury' by Tony Bianco.

Autumn is officially in the air and I am loving the new season shoes by Tony Bianco. I bought these shoes as a late birthday present for myself because one can never have too many shoes... right?

What I like most about this style is the studded details. This is what caught my attention while I was perusing the online store. The studs give the classic pump a new and dramatic edge. This style is extremely glamorous and can really dress up any outfit.

The pointed toe shoe is a great style for winter as they go great under trousers for work and skinny jeans when it's time to play.

What makes this style great is the comfort of them. The suede is soft and extremely comfortable to wear. The 11.5 centimetre stiletto heel is a great height and is comfortable to wear all day. It also defines your calf muscles and makes your legs appear slimmer. Who knew you could get runner's calves just by wearing high heel shoes?

The Stiletto

"Stiletto, I look at it more as an attitude as opposed to a high-heeled shoe." - Lita Ford

My ultimate weakness and favourite heel type of all.

A stiletto (meaning ‘dagger’ in Italian) is a long, thin tapering heel, with a diameter of less than 1cm at the base. A stiletto heel can range from 2 and a half centimetres to a whopping 30 centimetres in height (Lady Gaga anyone?).

The term ‘stiletto’ can also be used to describe a style of shoe rather than the heel type. A stiletto shoe is a high heel pump, with a long thin heel and usually a pointed toe.

High heels have been around for many centuries and can even be dated back to the Renaissance. The high heel shoes were a symbol of wealth and status but now they are a staple accessory in most wardrobes.

The invention of the stiletto still remains a mystery; however, shoe designers Roger Vivier and Salvatore Ferragamo are usually credited with the creation of the heel.

What I love most about the stiletto is its femininity. They are extremely stylish and can glam up any outfit. They also do wonders for my confidence and self esteem.

There are many benefits of wearing stiletto heels. They make your legs appear slimmer and longer, they define your calf muscles and can even make your butt appear firmer. They also extend your silhouette and activate your core muscles.

Over the years, many designers, such as Manolo Blahnik and Christian Louboutin, have helped shape and develop the stiletto into what it is today. A piece of art and a luxury to wear.

Shoe of the Week #7

My shoe of the week is 'Miss Munroe' by Peeptoe shoes.

I bought these shoes while on a holiday in Melbourne last year. The first thing that caught my attention was the colour. It is very unique and goes well with the winter tones. It is also a great colour for summer, if you don't want to wear a black shoe as it can be quite harsh.

I wear a lot of black outfits to work and this is a great style to give my outfit a burst of colour without drawing all the attention away from the ensemble.

The classic pump is extremely versatile and goes well with everything. I've worn this style to work with dresses, skirts and pants. I can't get enough of them! The patent leather really dresses them up which makes it the perfect style to transform from day to night!

I like the toe box on this style as it is very unusual. It is not quite a pointed toe or round toe but something in-between.

I am a huge fan of stiletto heels, which means this style ticks that box. The 10cm heel is great for work as it is comfortable and I can last all day in them. And who can't go passed the signature purple Peeptoe soles? Amazing.

Two days after I made my purchase of these shoes, they went on sale for 50% off! I could have bought more shoes with the savings!

Shoe of the Week #6

My shoe of the week is 'Tiny' by Tony Bianco.

I bought these shoes as a birthday present for myself. Happy Birthday to me!

What I like most about this style is the versatility. The classic pump goes well with everything and it's a great style to transform from day to night.

I've worn this style to work under trousers and with shorts as a more casual outfit. I can't get enough of them! The ankle strap is also very feminine and will look great with summer skirts and dresses.

The colour is amazing and unlike any nude I have seen before. It will go well as a neutral accent to the colours of spring/summer and the warmth of the nude will complement your dark ensembles during winter.

Another major positive with this style is the height of the heel. The 12cm stiletto gives your legs great definition and really elongates your silhouette. For me, the higher the heel, the better and these definitely deliver!

The only flaw with this style is, the ankle straps are very rough and hard against the back of my legs, but nothing that cannot be rectified.

This style is quickly rising to the top of my favourites list!
