How to go shopping for shoes in France

The first thing I did when I decided to travel to France was to learn some important French phrases to get me through.

Bonjour, au revoir, s'il vous plait, merci etc.

But then I realised, the most important phrases every fashionista should know in France...

Is... How to go shopping for shoes in France!

Galeries Lafayette in Nantes, France

To me, this was the most important thing to learn, so I could successfully go shopping for shoes, without my French speaking translator.

So, with the help of my boyfriend, I have compiled a list of French phrases for you to learn, to help you go shopping for shoes in France without knowing the French language.

1. Where can I find the shoe department?

Où est ce que je peut trouver le rayon chaussure?

2. May I try on these shoes in a 37, please?

Puis je essayer celles-ci en taille 37 s'il vous plait?

3. How much are these?

Combien est-ce? (est cela/c'est)?

4. I will take these please!

Je prend celle-ci / Je vais les prendre s'il vous plait!

5. Can you direct me to the Christian Louboutin shoes?

Pouvez-vous m'indiquer le magasin Christian Louboutin?

The most important thing to remember when you are shopping in France is, it's always polite to say hello (Bonjour) when you enter a shop. It is also polite to say thank you and goodbye (merci, au revoir) when you leave.

What else would you like to know when shopping in France?

Monday Musings

As I am saving all my pennies for my trip to Europe, I can't spend money on the latest and greatest fashion.

Which means, I am having fashion withdrawals.

I miss the satisfaction when you hand over your money in exchange for that beautiful pair of shoes or that fabulous party outfit.

So I have compiled the latest Pinterest pics that have me reaching for my credit card!

Friday Fashion Fix

I love fashion.

I spend way too much money on clothes, shoes, jewellery and handbags. I love the way I feel when I'm wearing the latest, trending fashion and I love the compliments I get!

But sadly, I cannot always afford the latest and greatest. So instead, I scroll social media and Pinterest to admire other people wearing the greatest fashion. This keeps me sane for a little bit longer and it feeds my desire to have it.

So my latest fashion crushes from Pinterest this week are below, for you to get your own fashion fix.

My Top 10 2014 Oscar Dresses

As celebrities hit the red carpet for the 2014 Oscars, the fashion addicts got their pen and paper ready to admire, criticise and lust over the latest fashion.

I compiled a list, of my top 10 favourite dresses... so here they are.

Kate Hudson looks absolutely stunning in this plunging, beaded, off white Atelier Versace cape dress. This is by far, my favourite dress from the Oscars this year.

Sandra Bullock looks elegant in this beautiful, strapless Alexander McQueen gown.

What can I say about this beautiful Giorgio Armani gown? The high neck and florals look sophisticated and Cate Blanchett wears it with such grace.

Jennifer Lawrence looks like she is ready to paint the town red, in this beautiful Dior dress. I love the simplicity of the dress and how feminine it is, with the peplum.

Naomi Watts definitely sparkles in this Calvin Klein gown. The cap sleeves and all over beading, is a standout for the Oscars.

I love the simple, elegant silhouette that Anne Hathaway opted for. It is feminine and extremely flattering. The studded detail gives the Gucci dress, the 'wow' factor.

This strapless Gucci dress is stunning and Amy Adams looks beautiful, in the gown.

All I can say, is wow! Charlize Theron looks amazing in this strapless, sweeping gown. It is definitely a standout dress on the red carpet.

Jessica Biel looks fantastic is this neutral, strapless gown. The silhouette is stunning, and the subtle metallic, makes the dress pop.

At first, this Monique Lhuillier dress worn by Chrissy Teigen, looks a little bit over the top with the full skirt and floral print, but I think it is stunning, feminine and lots of fun.

What were your favourite Oscar dresses this year?
